History

The Sylvia Green Memorial Mikvah, located on the Millstone Campus, was constructed in 1979 with the Halachic guidance of the late Chief Rabbi of St. Louis, Rabbi Menachem Tzvi Eichenstein, of blessed memory. In 2021, it became known as the Staenberg Family Building, Mikvah Shaindel Malkah. It is owned, operated, and maintained by the Vaad Hoeir, the United Orthodox Jewish Community of St. Louis. The building also houses the administrative offices of the Vaad Hoeir.

The Rivkin-Zuckerman Mikvah was constructed in the early 1990's at the same time as the Young Israel synagogue, with the Halachic direction of the late Chief Rabbi of the Vaad Hoeir, Rabbi Sholom Rivkin, of blessed memory.

Halachic Oversight

The ongoing Halachic integrity of the Mikvahs is overseen by the Rabbanim Achraim of the Vaad Hoeir, Rabbi Menachem Greenblatt and Rabbi Yosef Landa.

The Executive Director of the Vaad Hoeir, Rabbi Zvi Zuravin, oversees the building’s security.
